On 7 April, TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy, CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, and senior Congress leaders were placed under house arrest to prevent them from protesting the power tariff hike and paddy procurement delay. The Telangana State Electricity Regulatory Commission (TSERC) has made a 14 percent rise in retail power supply tariffs for the financial year 2022-23, compared to the Discoms' planned increase of 18 percent. Domestic consumers would see a minor increase of 10 paise per unit to 50 paise per unit, while non-domestic consumers will see a Rs 1 per unit hike.
