On April 7th, Janak Ram, Bihar's Minister of Mines and Geology, called for a ban on the use of loudspeakers in masjids and during azan. Minister Janak Ram said that "restrictions are imposed on using loudspeakers during Holi, Diwali and Chhath Puja festivals. Law should be the same for all sects, and mosques should be stopped from using loudspeakers."
